SU LateNightStampers Challenge/Color Me Happy!

What a busy week I have had and finally got a chance to post this weeks challenge for SU LateNightStampers.  The challenge this week is to "Color Me Happy."  I had been wanting to use this church for a Christmas Card this year which is a part of the Christmas Village digital Stamp that I got last year for My Digital Studio.  I actually sized it to the size I needed, then used a digital punch to put it on and added the mat, I then added the ornament from another digital stamp set, wishes & greetings, made it a little smaller so I could cut and out punch the mat, and then to  the same 8 1/2 X 11 piece of card stock I added the inside sentiment, then printed it all out and cut and punched as needed.  How great is that.  What actually inspired the church is this weeks sketch over at Sunny Challenges and Creations.  It just seemed to be the right size to pull off this sketch.  Now I did have to find an image that I could color since that is our challenge this week at LNS.  So I used markers to color the church and doors and used Dazzling Details for the church windows.  They look a lot better in person.

Here is a side view of the card!

And now the inside that I also did with my digital studio.  I did color in the red berries with a marker.

OK, now you need to let me know what you think.  Thanks for looking!

Lean On Me Stamp Set

Well it took me all day Saturday to get this card done as I was not feeling good and on top of all that, I had to bake some cookies for a bake sale.  But I managed to get it done along with everything else I had to get done.  This is a sketch that was used on Stampin Fun and Friends.  It has been a blast being with them this session and I have learned a lot.  I did the paper piecing technique on the dress and I just love doing that.

Here is the side view!

Tea Shoppe

Today I am using one of my favorite stamp sets called Tea Shoppe.  I just love this set and it can be used in so many ways.  When I saw the stamping 411 sketch this week, I went plundering through my stamps to see what would work and as soon as I saw this little saying and the little tea cup, I went to work.  Isn't it great for a friend who needs a pick me up?

Here is a side view of the card and for some reason the coloring came out a lot better on this one.

And the inside which I would just write a note.

Elegant Butterfly Punch

Wow, can you believe I made a card tonight.  Well my husband is back into the football mode with high school, so I am the Friday night widow for the next 3 months.  I am excited when it starts but love to see it end also.  This card was inspired by the sketch frenzy Friday sketch this week.  This is another item I have been wanting to use and just got around to it.  I am loving the new butterfly punch and the stamp set that goes along with it.  Now this embossing folder is one I found at AC Moore by Darice and it was on sale for under $3, so I could not resist.  And after making this card I now know why.

Here is a side view of the card.

I also spritzed it with Gold Glow Smooch Spritz.  Here is a close up which gives you a little idea of what it looks like.  Click on the photo and you will see a bigger image.

And yes, I did do the inside.  It has just become a habit now.

My Digital Studio 2/Wedding Page

As my followers know, I have been working on my daughter's wedding scrapbook for over a year now and have finally finished it even though I have not posted all the pages as of yet, but I had one page that I had done at the first which did not match the other pages.  I really liked the page, but the colors did not match the others.  Well when My Digital Studio 2 came out I just had to see if I could get the page to match up with all the other pages.  Now here is the page that did not match as all the others were Baja Breeze or Tempting Turquoise.  If you click on it you will get a larger view.

Now here is the page I re-did using MDS2 which goes right along with the theme and colors of the other pages.

So now can I tell you that I just love MDS2. It was a breeze to change all the colors on the embellishments to match.  Now I don't have to worry about this page standing alone in the album.  It matches beautifully!

Thanks for stopping by and maybe I will share some of the last pages I did that I have not shared yet with you tomorrow.  Blessings to you all!

The challenge this week at LateNightStampers is to use something that you have been hanging on too or you get and just look at it.  Well I have had this embossing folder for over a month and finally decided to get it out for this challenge.  I actually cased this card from the new Christmas Mini as that is the reason for buying the folder and the stamp set.  I just fell in love with it.

Double Gate Fold Card

Here is a card I did for a challenge over at Stampin' Fun and Friends.  I signed up for their 20 projects in 20 days and this is one of the cards I made from one of the projects.  I love the way she did the center of the card by using the framelits.  I had made this card before, but never used the framelits the way she did. I loved it.  So far we are on day 5 and I am loving what I see.  I would recommend it to everyone.

Here is a photo of the opened card!

Isn't that the greatest that the framelits hold it shut.  And I also used an inspiration photo for the colors, reason for the yellow bird.

And here it is closed fully!

Thanks so much for looking and hope you have a wonderful week!

Happy Anniversary to my Wonderful Husband!

Today I have been married 38 years!  Yes, I was a kid when I got married.  We were 17 & 18, so yes we were both kids.  And of course it has been one of those weeks where I just could not sit down and make a card.  So, I took my computer to work yesterday and did three 5 1/4" X 4" layers on a 12 X 12 page which made a card front and two inside pieces.  Then I printed and cut them out and placed them on whisper white card stock.  And, I am loving My Digital Studio 2 because I was able to add the black to the tires, the lights, the rear view mirror and the strap. Isn't that wonderful? Love, love it!

Now here is a side view of the card!

And, the inside of the card!

In my digital studio I used the following!
Parker's Patterns Designer Series Paper
Stamp brush Sets: Sentimental Journey, Established, Fundamental Phrases

Thanks for looking today and hope your day is blessed!

Back To School Pencils

Good Morning again and as promised yesterday I am back with something to go into the pencil box.  Here are some cute little pencils that I made using card stock and some of that wonderful sticky strip.  They were so easy to make and my granddaughter's just love them.  A tuturial is coming up, but wanted you to see them first.

Here is another photo of them.

And here they are in that wonderful pencil holder from yesterday!

A wonderful gift for a teacher's desk or for a student don't you think?

Now, I am going to try and do a tutorial if it will let me!

How to make a Flower Burst Pencil Topper

1. Here are the items you
will need to make this
topper!
Paper Cutter
Scissors
Sticky Strip
Card Stock
Pencils

2. I did not think about doing the tutorial until I had already cut my strips. So you will cut 3 pieces of Card Stock or Designer Paper 2" X 4 ½".

3. Cut each strip 1 ¾" with the scissors making sure you leave at least ¼" on
the edge as you see in photo here.

4. Then add the sticky strip to the ¼" side that is not cut. See same photo above!

5. Start by wrapping the first piece around the silver part of the eraser with the fringed part of the card stock up as in photo here!

6. This is what it will look like when you finish with the first layer!

7.   Do the same for the next piece except start ¼" below the first layer as in photo!

This is the finished second piece.

8. Repeat step 7 starting ¼" below the Second layer
.

9. By using your fingers or one of the pencils pull the pieces downward to form the flower. You can use the pencil to kind of roll them downward.

Continue with each layer until they are all pointing downward!

Final Result!

10. Place finished Flower Burst Pencils into a pencil holder! How easy is that!

Now it is your turn! And please let me know if you made some Flower Burst Pencils.  I would love to see them and thanks so much for stopping by!

SU LateNightStampers challenge/Back to School

Good Morning stamping friends.  Today I am sharing with you and altered pencil holder which I made using designer series paper and embellishments from My Digital studio.  I actually printed off the digital paper and then I designed the band around the center to say pencils.  Isn't that just the greatest.  I love how it turned out. Wouldn't this look great on a teacher's desk with pencils and pens in it, but that will have to wait until tomorrow as I have more to share with this back to school focus.

I did want to share the container that I made the pencil holder from so you can see there is no need to throw empty containers away.

All items used are from My Digital Studio except for the container.

Thanks for looking today and don't forget to come back tomorrow for something to go into the pencil holder.

Snow Festival/Four Seasons

Well as you may have guessed, I took off work yesterday, so I got two cards posted, one yesterday and one this morning.  How great is that.  I did get some of the other work done that I actually took off for, but this was the fun stuff.  And, I was able to use another sketch from the Freshly Made Sketches challenge.  I had been wanting to use this new hostess stamp set called "Four Seasons" and when I saw their sketch, I knew I could use it.  My only problem was after the card was finished I spritzed it with my shimmer white paint mix and it smeared the sentiment, but I am still trying to decide how to fix it.  Maybe I will add another banner and put the sentiment on it.  Wow why did I not think about that before I took the photos. lol

Now here is a close up of the center of the card and hopefully you can see some of that shimmer I added.

And a side view!

And the inside!

Still loving this paper!  Makes a wonderful inside to the card.

Field Flowers

This is truly one of my favorite stamp sets and I just love to cut out the flower and pop dot it onto the paper.  Just gives it a lot of dimension.  Now this design was inspired by the Monday Lunch Time Sketch Challenge over at Techno Stamper.  Isn't it just perfect for this stamp set?

Here is a side view!

And of course to show the dimension and the sparkle I added to the card, here is a close up!

Love the Shimmer paint mix!  And, yes I did do the inside!

Wrapping using SU packaging paper/Nathan's Birthday

OK, I finally got around to sharing with you the packaging for my grandson's birthday present.  I used the packaging paper that comes in the Stampin' Up! orders.  And then using the stamp set "I Dig You", I stamped on the paper.  I decided not to put his card in an envelope as it could be part of the packaging.  You can see the card post here.

Here it is without the card!

And then for some other decorations I did for the party using My Digital Studio!  Of course they were my daughter's ideas that she got somewhere and I just did the paper work on it.

Following I just made the signs for the dishes!

And my granddaughter made these for her brother's party!  I thought she did a great job for being 7!

And now a picture of the birthday boy and his sister! Nathan was saying "cheese."  When he sees a camera now pointing at him that is what is automatic.

And the birthday boy relaxing in one of his gifts after getting out of the pool!

Thanks for looking and hope you have a wonderful day!
